We’re back with the final day of the 2nd Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals. Pre-race ceremonies will kick off at 10:00 this morning with final elimination to follow immediately at 11:00. Once again we’d like to congratulate Allen Johnson for his win in the K&N Horsepower Challenge yesterday. His brilliant 0.000 light was the winning factor over Greg Anderson’s quicker time. Crews Work Overnight To Correct Water Problem

Crews worked through most of the night to fix the water seepage problem that led to cancellation of Friday qualifying at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals. We have overcast skies, the track is dry, the radar is clear, and we are racing! Welcome to day three of the 2nd Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals here at Summit Motorsports Park. Sportsman eliminations are under way at this hour. The Professional qualifying rounds start at noon. We have experienced a most unusual situation. Over the last week, we have had 13 inches of rainfall in the Summit Motorsports Park region. We’re back for the second day of the 2nd Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals on a beautiful sunlit morning! The showers that rolled through yesterday interrupted, but didn’t stop, the action on the track. We got the day’s program complete just before the monsoon hit! The ceremony for Scott Kalitta yesterday evening was moving, to say the least, but that’s a topic for another story. Today we have the first two rounds of Professional qualifying scheduled, so tell the boss that you’re too busy to go to work today, and come on out!
