Goodguys Blue Suede Cruise Brings Thousands of Hot Rods and Vintage Dragsters to Summit Motorsports Park This Weekend!

The Goodguys 7^th Blue Suede Cruise takes over Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH this weekend turning the spectacular racing venue into an automobile lover’s paradise, with two events in one! A giant car show featuring 2,500 hot rods, customs and classic cars through 1972 vintage will fill the west side of the park while hundreds of vintage drag racers will fill the east side pits! Event features include a giant car show, a full scale vintage drag race with twelve eliminator classes, an automotive swap meet, a vendor exhibit midway, a special appearance by famed Ohio drag racer “Ohio George” Montgomery of Dayton and many other automotive themed activities. The Blue Suede Cruise is the sixteenth of twenty-four annual hot rod and custom car events promoted and produced by the northern California based Goodguys Rod & Custom Association. Goodguys events are held from New York to San Diego, from Seattle Florida and many points in between. They’re large, they’re colorful and have often been referred to as a “State Fair of Automotive Excitement!” Lil’ deuce coupes, hot rod roadsters, lead-sled 50’s Mercury customs, ‘55-’57 Chevy’s, Camaro’s, Hemi Barracuda’s & BOSS 409 Mustangs, front engined top fuel dragsters, nitro burning retro funny cars, blown gassers and other timeless beauties will fill the entire outdoor acreage of Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk. Pinks On Television

For those who have been patiently waiting for the results of last June’s Pinks: All Out, your wait is almost over. The program, which originated last June 6-7 at Summit Motorsports Park, will be telecast on Speed Channel this coming Thursday night, September 4, at 9:00pm. We can find out who won, who lost, and who broke their car during the taping of the program. Check your local listing to confirm the exact time of the program’s schedule, then tune in and watch your friends and neighbors at Summit Motorsports Park. If you’re lucky, maybe you’ll actually get to see your own smiling face right there on national television.

Sunday’s Final in the Probell Ten Grand Nationals presented by American Race Cars came at a much more reasonable time than did the two previous days. Starting the eliminations at noon had its intended effect, but having to wade through the sea of racecars that showed up for this event took more time than anyone expected. We, at Summit Motorsports Park want to express our thanks to all the racers that showed up this weekend and made this event such a resounding success. Ten Grand Nationals Day Three

We’re back this morning with the final day of the Probell Ten Grand Nationals presented by American Race Cars. Despite the fact that there have been only a few hours between the races, this really is day three! We started the time trials at 9:00, as scheduled, and the elimination rounds today are scheduled to kick off at noon. The weather seems to be cooperating today, and the prediction is for clear skies and sunshine for the remainder of this race. Today’s purse is the biggest of all three days, which means that the competition will be stiffer than that which we’ve already seen. Come on out and share the day with us.

We’re back for the second day of the Probell Ten Grand Nationals presented by American Race Cars. Yesterday’s racing was affected by the weather, which may be accurately described as weird! Rain, sunshine, humidity, fog, we had it all. We have clear blue skies, sunshine, and the biggest car count that this event has ever seen.
